Day with Dolls 2010

It was a day….a day with dolls

It was a day…a day of friendship

It was a day…a day of teaching

It was a day…a day of learning

It was a day…that will be remembered…

for its laughter, its stash swap, its exhibition, its door prizes, its vendors, its raffles, its workshops, its delicious food.

We certainly all got our cake…

A dollmakers guide to Fabric and Trims in Manhattan

this is the resource list that was given to me ....

d43_9a

It is easy to get around Midtown. Fifth Avenue is the dividing line
between East and West addresses. The higher the numbers the further it is from 5th Avenue.

The Fabric District's shops and showrooms are between 36th and 40th Streets and between 6th and 8th Avenues. The "street" blocks are short, however the Avenues are about 4 or 5 "blocks" in length. . Wear your sneakers and don't carry a heavy purse. Fabric is heavy.

Most shops will ship your purchases to your home. The shipping is usually about the same or less than the 8-1/4% State and City tax. No tax is charged if merchandise is shipped out of State.
